Eric Kleinjan is an experienced general and financial manager with 25 years of executive experience, whose international career has covered a broad range of sectors. His main background is in (branded) FMCG and professional markets, both in operations and commercial environments.
His career began with Unilever, which he joined after obtaining his Master degree in Business Administration. Here he held various posts in finance, commercial and supply chain management, and received his marketing education. Following this period with Unilever, he joined CSM - an international food & ingredients company - and after serving as Division Controller for Europe, was appointed Financial Director in Italy, a.o responsible for the reversal of the loss-making Italian business through restructuring.
In 1997 he was asked to join Coberco, a major dairy multinational, as manager Mergers & Acquisitions. Soon Coberco merged with Friesland Dairy Foods, and some follow-up acquisitions and alliances followed. After a period as Managing Director of the activities in Portugal and Italy, he came to Spain when promoted to Managing Director of South-Europe.
After a period as change manager / Director de Operaciones in Spain (company turn-around and supply chain management), he has been CFO/Finance Director of the International division of SigmaKalon in Paris.
He has his own business & financial consultancy and practices interim- & transition management. Eric has lived and worked in a variety of countries, speaking the different languages, and holds a post-graduate in Finance & Accounting. He is also a member of the bar of Registered Controllers, founder of the Entrepreneurs Network Barcelona, and serves as adviser or non exec director to entrepreneurs.
